Mechanical Engineer

As an Engineer at TKS, you'll be at the forefront of innovation, working within a cross-functional team to conceptualize, design, and execute state-of-the-art paint finishing systems for top industries including automotive, heavy trucking, aerospace, and more. With projects ranging from $10K to $100M, you'll have the opportunity to make a tangible impact, delivering effective and profitable engineering solutions that exceed our customers' expectations.

What you'll do:

  • Apply Mechanical and Paint Finishing Process Fundamentals to develop design plans, calculations, process flow schematic, equipment sizing/selection, and markup drawings.
  • Craft technical specifications for bid packages, and meticulously evaluate supplier and subcontractor deliverables to ensure top-notch quality.
  • Collaborate closely with customers to clarify project scopes and coordinate engineering approvals, serving as a trusted technical advisor throughout the process.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for internal fabrication and installation teams, as well as external suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring seamless execution of projects.
  • Provide invaluable support to the Project Execution team during punch list reviews, system checkouts, and final documentation processes.

What you bring to the table

  • A minimum of 5 years’ expertise in paint finishing systems such as:
      o Pretreatment and Electrocoat or Washer systems.
      o Large production Spray Booth systems.
      o Large production Oven and Cooling systems.
  • An engineering degree coupled with a solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles and industry standards
  • Proficiency in industrial project engineering, encompassing a wide range of disciplines including thermodynamics, heat transfer, mass transfer, fluid flows, psychrometrics, sheet metal, piping, structural, material handling, and/or air flow.
  • Knowledge of equipment used in industrial manufacturing systems is essential (fans, pumps, burners, motors, heat exchangers, valves, dampers, filters, lighting, and controls). The ability to perform the calculations needed to correctly size and specify the equipment is required.
  • Expertise in AutoCAD, 3D software, and Excel, coupled with exceptional communication skills both verbally and in writing.
