Honda Engineers selected a regenerative thermal oxidizer (RTO) abatement system to destroy the hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) from their paint cure ovens. Honda-MAP's new paint facility features multiple RTO systems to abate exhaust air from the E-coat oven, Sealer oven, and Topcoat Ovens. Honda selected the RTOs for their high thermal efficiency and low natural gas usage per CFM.

Nissan's new Smyrna paint line features two new CLEANSWITCH Megtec RTOs (now Babcock & Wilcox). The RTOs collectively abate the HAPs from the paint cure ovens and the VOCs from the clear coat painting booths. Nissan prides itself on choosing the best air pollution control equipment and technologies available.
Kia's new West Point (KMMG) paint line features a large RTO to abate the HAPs from the paint cure ovens and the VOCs from the clear coat painting booths. Kia elected to combine all paint shop emissions into a single air pollution control system. This combined design causes some issues with oven tar condensation in the cool paint booth air, prior to reaching the RTO's combustion chamber.

Nissan's new Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) paint line in Canton, Mississippi features a very large RTO to abate the HAPs from multiple paint cure ovens and the VOCs from the clear coat painting booth. Nissan elected to combine all paint shop emissions from their existing C1 Truck paint line (Nissan Titan) into a single air pollution control system.
